The Sydney Metro Northwest comprises the first phase of eight train stations and 36 kilometres of track between Chatswood and Rouse Hill, via its twin 15 km tunnels between Bella Vista and Epping, making them the longest rail tunnels ever built in Australia.
The works include the commissioning of the axial fans for the Tunnel Ventilation System (TVS) as well as the Track Exhaust System (TES). The fans delivered for this project were designed to operate during a fire, withstanding up to 300°C for 2 hours; they are also equipped with anti-blocking rings to protect the fans from train-induced electromagnetic disturbances and allow safe operation while maintaining high efficiency, with lower energy consumption.
SOLUTION PROPOSED BY THE GLAKOR® ENGINEERING TEAM
After evaluating the most suitable design for the project (metro) and after studying the requirements for the project, as well as the installation location of the enclosures, Glakor® brand EMC IP68 metric threaded cable glands in nickel-plated brass were chosen, allowing the electronic devices not to interfere with each other, while being suitable for the passage, compression and clamping of cables between two compartments under the Sydney metro.
Delvalle's easily removable Geo Series junction boxes in AISI 304L stainless steel with IP66 dust and water tightness were also included in the project development for installation and subsequent assembly as the ideal enclosures for the connection of lighting and other electrical systems.
