Duqm refinery with an area of 9 km2, is located on the coast of the Arabian Sea, 600 km south of the capital of Oman and is part of the government’s plans for the development and exploitation of the area.
The production is going to start in 2022, with the capacity of process 230.000 barrels per day (bpd), in several process zones. Including hydrocracking, diesel hydrodesulfurization, hydrotreating and delayed coking. This together with sulphur recovery units, hydrogen generation and merox treatment.
The new facility will use a total of eight crude storage tanks with an 80 kilometres underground pipeline, as well as a new terminal for export products in the northern part of the port of Duqm, so it needs a very high electrical safety with guarantee anticorrosion and protection against dust in hazardous areas.

The task was based on the supply of corrosion resistant Atex cable glands for coke and sulphur handling system at the Duqm refinery.
